Meet Johnny
When Johnny arrived at the Aspen Winter Games in 2024, the 11-year-old brain tumor survivor was nervous to try snowboarding for the first time. But throughout the week, something special happened. With one-on-one instruction and encouragement from new friends, Johnny came out of his shell. By race day, he was proudly carving down the mountain as a confident snowboarder.
Since then, Johnny and his family have joined us for every family camp, even braving the snowy Rocky Mountains for Winter Family Camp. Their story is a beautiful example of what happens when families find adventure, friendship, and a caring community that reminds them they are never alone.
