Byers Peak Stampede – A Race to Remember!

Lace up your running shoes and join us for the Byers Peak Stampede! Whether you’re up for a scenic 5K stroll or ready to tackle a challenging trail half marathon, this all-dirt course through the stunning Arapaho National Forest offers something for everyone.

But this race is about more than just crossing the finish line. All proceeds go toward funding outdoor programs for kids facing cancer, using the healing power of nature and community to bring joy and hope to their lives. Every step you take helps us make a difference.

Half Marathon Course: The course takes place almost entirely on remote dirt roads. It is a single loop course beginning at approximately 8,700 ft. and traveling above 9,500 ft. Climbs and descents are fairly mellow for a mountain race, but we promise it will be challenging. Aid stations will be on course about every 3.5 miles complete with water, sports drink, and fruit. This race has a time limit - racers must be to mile 9 by 10:30AM. The race is chip timed. 8AM START.

5K Course: The course will take place on dirt roads and trails near the Fraser Rodeo Grounds. An aid station will be available at the finish line. The race is chip timed. 9AM START.

Packet Pick Up & Pre-Party : Kick off race weekend with us from 5-7pm on Friday, August 21 at Hideaway Park Brewery in Winter Park! Join us for an evening of fun as we share course details, offer early racer check-in, meet the competition, and listen to live music from Fleet Call your local Winter Park Ski Patroller band! This is a great chance to connect with fellow racers, support the Shining Stars Foundation, and celebrate the charitable community you're joining by participating in this race. Plus, enjoy prizes, giveaways, live music and more surprises. Stay tuned for more details—see you there!
