Young Adult Mentorship PRogram

The Young Adult Mentorship Program is our newest program! This program was launched in the fall of 2017 with the goal of helping young adult pediatric cancer survivors access the resources they need to thrive. These young adults are 21-35 years old and have participated in other Shining Stars Foundation programs and events, including the Young Adult Rocky Mountain Adventure. The objective of this program is to match these young adults with mentors who are dedicated to helping them become successful and independent individuals.

What is the Need?

There is currently a lack of age-appropriate services that help young adult pediatric cancer survivors tackle the unique challenges they face. As a result of their illness and treatments, these patients are entering adulthood with a wide range of burdens, including: Lack of education or access to higher education, severe financial difficulties, isolation from their peers, chronic health conditions, cognitive and learning challenges, and adjustment difficulties.

We are currently accepting applications for mentors. If you live in the Denver area and are interested in learning more about becoming a mentor, please email Ryndi Zastrow at
