Mrs. Jean McBride
Evergreen, CO
olga01@msn.com
"During the 14 years that I have worked with adolescents who are dealing with life threatening diseases, I have been aware of how much a
change of environment helps them. When they are out of the hospital, their nurse becomes their buddy instead of a person who gives them medicine that makes them sick and scared. They don't have to
pretend not to be sick and scared. They return from the Winter Games with smiles, new energy and the strength to continue fighting their illness. A change of scenery and a new friend works miracles!"
Jean moved to Colorado after graduating from the University of Iowa in 1956. She retired from her teaching position in Arvada to raise three sons. During that time she did volunteer work at every
school level as well as working with senior citizens. She was a volunteer with the NSCD Program in Winter Park for 16 years. Jean and her husband Bud make their home in Evergreen, CO.
